Innovation SCV (Cultivation systems under plant cover) – North-Cameroon

The main objective of DMCs is to improve or maintain soil fertility, through a better organic status and an adequate structure.

Secondarily, and depending on the specific constraints of each environment, the development of DMCs can meet the constraints of: 1) water management, 2) grass management, 3) organization of working hours, and 4) cultural diversification.

In North Cameroon, the introduction of DMC (conservation agriculture) was carried out with the support of French cooperation, through the support of an R/D system within the framework of soil conservation projects.
