ACALODE - Support to Local Capacities for Development
The NGO/ACALODE (Support to Local Capacities for Development), a local structure in Mali, was created in 2001 with the obtaining of its framework agreement N° 0419/1319 of 15-04-2008 to support and innovate local initiatives for sustainable development.
It wants to contribute to the promotion of local actions for sustainable development through:
- Support for farmers and foresters in the fight against degradation and land use change, which constitute the main source of greenhouse gas emissions in Africa;
- Support for local initiatives for the promotion of practices of sustainable land management techniques adapted to the adverse effects of climate change and mitigating the emission of greenhouse gases;
- Research and innovation of sustainable land management practices adapted and emitting less greenhouse gases to ensure sustainable food security.
Experience : She has twelve (12) years of practice in sustainable land management techniques (agroforestry, conservation agriculture, Zaï, mulch etc.) of agroecology' in the management of development projects/programs and of networks in the arid, semi-arid and sub-humid zones of Mali
Combat : It is currently working alongside farmers for a reduction in agricultural land. greenhouse effect.
Areas of intervention : Agriculture, Environment, Climate Change, Innovation, Education, Health, Food Security, Appropriate Technologies.
The NGO/ACALODE is a member of the 4 per 1000 Initiative, soils for food security and the climate.
