  • The Foundation is located in Montpellier, at the heart of the Agropolis International cluster, which brings together more than 2,300 scientists - researchers and teachers - in agronomy, food, biodiversity and the environment, with a specific focus on tropical and Mediterranean regions. This world-class concentration is the fruit of the efforts undertaken by the French State since the 1970s to bring together in Montpellier all the scientific forces specialized in these fields.


    His missions

    Agropolis Fondation was founded in 2007. Its purpose is to support and promote the development of international-level projects (research and training programs through research) in the field of agronomy and sustainable development, by interesting to the problems of the North as well as the South. It supports research projects, positions and stays of doctoral scientists, pre- and post-doctoral students or confirmed researchers (junior or senior). In particular, it allows international scientists to come and work within the scientific network of the Foundation in Montpellier, thus facilitating the exchange of knowledge and international collaborations.


    Its scientific objective

    The Foundation aims to promote a network of excellence and global visibility on the Plant (from the gene to the whole plant; the plant in its environment; the products of the plant, its food and non-food uses). It favors actions at the interfaces between Agronomy and the other major disciplinary fields, as well as openness to partnerships.

    Agropolis Fondation is guided by three values:
